LEE RANALDO
“The initial text for Last Letter to Jayne was written in the early dark days of the pandemic, The poem came as a sort of memorial to a relationship with a fixed ending. Some time later Alessandro approached me about working together on a collaborative song. When I heard the somber, majestic music I thought that I could adapt the poem to fit, and also challenge myself to be experimental with my vocals in a way that was quite new for me – using overlapping voices and phrases to create an instability between the foreground and the background, a ‘3- dimensional’ evocation of an emotional state”
EMMA NOLDE
During quarantine of April 2020, when Alessandro asked me to collaborate on his song “Embers”, I was experiencing apocalyptic feelings. Sometimes we tend to exaggerate our feelings especially in moments like that when you’re forced to think a lot. Right before lock down I had the luck to meet a person who changed me very deeply and I was very afraid to lose that link because of the forced distance. The music of Alessandro changed my point of view, showing me the beauty. It had such a strong impact on me -“At least I found someone before the end…” – I wrote that to say how grateful I am to have experienced such a beautiful thing that could have ended remaining as it was. As usual music fix your mood and change your perception of things, especially when it touches you so much.
