The album can be considered an author’s infiltration into post-punk structures, representing an essential stage in forming Dead Janitor’s musical identity. Infiltration has a dual nature. It is a fusion of distinctly organic compositions and repetitive sequences. The sequences are references – post-punk relics, in which the author works in an emancipated way vis-a-vis the original genre, doesn’t adapt to it sonically, and preserves his existing handwriting in the recordings, full of abstraction. This opens up new possibilities for interpreting dystopian scenery, deconstruction, and musical revolt characteristic of the abovementioned genre. Dead Janitor’s world contains language, actions, reactions, and living forms born and existing in its musical environment. With its approach, the album also thematizes a frequent issue of the contemporary music scene in Slovakia: How to use a reference and at the same time preserve a sovereign musical identity? How to work with an inspiration source so that the source does not become a victim of authorial parasitism? Dead Janitor answers. (-Pavel Bakajsa-)
