There are sounds that are not only heard but felt – as fleeting shadows on the surface of our perception, as echoes of unimagined spaces within. Knowledge Silence Passing By is just such a work: no singular melody, no fixed theme, but a delicate web of fragments and pauses, a dance between sound and silence that unfolds over 43 miniatures.

Spun from the warm resonances of a 1936 Gibson LV, gently played by Luigi Archetti, an acoustic universe opens up that is characterised by interstices. These empty spaces are not mere gaps, but silent stages on which the unspeakable takes effect – a space that challenges the ear to fill it with its own images and meanings.

The fragmentation of the melodies – fragmentary, incomplete – reflects the experience of a time that does not proceed linearly, but branches out, drifts away, loses itself and finds itself again. It is a musical poetics of passing by: a ‘passing by’ in two senses, encompassing both the slipping away of knowledge and the silent presence of not knowing.
Postmodern forms dissolve traditional certainties and leave room for reflections that are both intellectually challenging and sensually moving. The miniatures enter into a dialogue between materiality and immateriality, between tangible guitar sound and fleeting emptiness. They are sound studies that play with time, stretching it, interrupting it and reassembling it – a meditative process that turns listening into a journey into the moment.
The musical work reminds us that knowledge is not always directly accessible, but often lurks in the spaces between – in silence, in stillness, in the fleeting.
