Psi by Zūma

Psi is an experimental concept album by Zūma, born as an electronic stream of consciousness. It’s a dreamy journey that takes the listener on a multisensory discovery of the subconscious, an immersion within oneself driven by primordial sounds and noises.

As in a path of musical illiteracy, each track
deconstructs traditional sonorities, confronting the listener with dissonant compositions. The singularity
of the project force to abandon pre-existing structures and let the unknown be the guide.

At the end of the journey, there is a kind of awakening — a return to the indistinct and superimposed sounds of the world. In the background noise, nothing is distinguishable or meaningful anymore.

The blurred recovery returns to mystify what has been revealed during the journey. The album closes with a track we feel we have known forever, taking us back to a conscious and alphabetised state. After
deconstructing our idea of music, Zūma returns us to his own.

Psi find its place among the projects of Unspace Records — “a non-place dedicated to non-music”, a label with no labels: a whole in which to bring together experimental projects far beyond genre definitions and
society’s expectations.
