“Launched in 2024 as a 19’40” sub-series dedicated to children, Bambini Sperimentali reaches its second volume. We created this project to offer a framework for the many musicians active in Italy’s experimental scene to channel their intelligence and creative craft toward younger listeners. Building on the three chapters of Volume 1, 19’40” invited nine artists to create nine new works: twelve chapters in total, across two volumes.
We would like to thank each of the musicians who took part with such generosity and enthusiasm: Gaetano Cappa and Massimiliano Speziani, Valeria Sturba, Alessandro Fiori, Valentina Fin and Federica Furlani, DJ Balli, Antonello Cassinotti, Collettivo Pietra Tonale, Giuseppe Franchellucci and our own Enrico Gabrielli.
Each artist embraced the same narrative starting point we chose for the first volume: the philosophical tale of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. Through their individual idioms and creative processes, they have made Bambini Sperimentali Vol. 2 an extraordinary collective work. Together with the first volume and the art book Puntino by artist Annalisa Limonta, this project reflects a shared desire to invest in the next generation. It aims to cultivate an audience that is open, curious, and creative.
For us, that’s a concrete way of investing in a better future.”
